Oak Leaf Training - Fall, 2017
What is Oak Leaf?
Oak Leaf is short for “Circle Ten Council Oak Leaf Training Course”. It’s full day course designed to provide you, the participant, with the basic leadership skills and to prepare you for advanced leadership training through the NYLT (National Youth Leader Training) program
Oak Leaf will cover a variety of topics, including: Troop structure, the leader positions and how they interrelate. We will explore the purpose and function of the Patrol Leader’s Council. We will learn about how to manage conflict in the Patrol. We will look at the material from Troop Program Resources and Troop Program Features, and learn how it can assist you in your leadership position. We will discuss the importance of developing the habit of evaluating the results of your efforts in the tasks you perform. Just as important, we will do our best to make sure that everybody has fun!
