All units should be well on their way towards completing the annual recharter process at this time. If you need any help or have questions, please contact your Unit Commissioner or the District Recharter Chair. Once completed, units may submit their recharter documents and payment at the Fairview office or during the December Roundtable on December 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the LDS Church on W. Exchange.
"Recharter" refers to the process whereby Scouting units and individuals renew their membership with BSA. It includes the collection of the BSA and Boy's Lifesubscription fees, updating member information and roles, completing the Journey To Excellence scorecard and renewing the charter agreement with the charter organization.
All units in Circle Ten complete this process during the months of October through December annually with the deadline for recharter being December 31st each year.
Additionally, all registered adults must have an expiration date for Youth Protraction Training (YPT) no later than January 1 of the following year in order to recharter. In 2018, all YPT certificates not completed after March 1, 2018 were automatically reset to expire on September 30, 2018 in an effort to ensure all adults complete the new version of YPT prior to recharter.
