Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) at Camp James Ray
Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain First Class rank. Along with Leader Specific Training, this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Boy Scout Troops and Varsity Teams, in order to be considered "basic trained".
This course will start Friday early evening and will finish up Saturday evening.
There will be a two hour orientation meeting a week or so prior to the training.
You do not have to be in Eagle Trail District to attend. All districts are welcome!
The orientation for this training and patrol outdoor cooking planning will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015, 7:30 p.m. at the Allen LDS Stake Center - West (1324 W. Exchange Pkwy, Allen, TX). Please let the registration contact know if you will not be able to attend the orientation, as well as any dietary or other restrictions.
Cost is $25 for the course plus $10 for the patrol portion of the food. Please bring $10 in cash to the orientation for your grub master to purchase food.
