Camp Ranger Opening

General Duties:


Protect and maintain camp grounds (real property and improvements) by enforcing camp rules and regulations. Secure and monitor perimeters against unauthorized access. Provide outstanding customer service to all users. Prepare campsites and program areas for use as needed. Maintain cleanliness and serviceability of all campsites, facilities, and program areas.


Specific Duties:


Maintain and repair the facility's structures, machinery, equipment and grounds. This includes plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and general maintenance needs. Structures include, but are not limited to, the pool, C.O.P.E. course, shooting ranges, campsites, administration building, dining hall, program areas and ranger quarters. Make periodic or special inspections of the premises to determine repair work necessary. May work from blueprints, drawings or rough sketches. Develop and submit weekly work schedules to the Camping Director. Other duties as assigned.


Check-in all units using the camp. Ensure proper certifications that are required to use specific facilities are presented. Provide needed equipment requested by units. Prepare campsites and facilities needed for each groups visit. Ensure all camp rules and regulations are enforced. Check-out all units using camp. Ensure the cleanliness of all areas that were used. Track all users of camp to include Adults and Scouts (and other users) using provided attendance sheets and turn in monthly to the Scout Service Center. Track vehicle use mileage and turn in monthly.


Monitor camp budget on a regular basis. Prior to any purchase of

supplies/equipment, you must submit a Purchase Order to the Camping Director for approval. Submit all receipts within one week of the purchase to the Scout Service Center. And above all provide high quality customer service to all camp users.


Required Qualifications:

• General customer service

• Attention to detail

• Project management

• A willingness to work beyond a 40 hour work week

• Willingness to relocate to assigned Council property


Experience in the following areas a plus:

• Outdoor maintenance

• Basic Electrical

• Basic Plumbing

• Basic Carpentry

• Basic Metal working/Welding

• Small engine repair

• Automotive repair

• Lawn care heavy equipment operation

• HVAC repair/maintenance

• Chainsaw Operation

• Septic system operation and maintenance

• Livestock management – specifically horses
